Last January 16, 2015, Ang ProLife Partylist nominee Atty. Jan Lumanta was interviewed by Mr. John Reyes and Mr. Ronald Rondina, anchors of “Ang Pagsusi sa Kamatuoran”, an apologetics program sponsored by the Catholic Faith Defenders-Davao Chapter. The radio program airs every Saturday, 3-4PM at DXUM Radio Ukay in Davao City, and its reach goes as far the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental, Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley, Davao City, Cotabato, Bukidnon, and the Garden Island of Samal.
In the interview, Atty. Jan Lumanta described Ang ProLife as a coalition of families, family organizations, parents, and youth, working in solidarity to protect and preserve the natural and moral foundations of our nation, beginning with life, marriage, and family. Ang ProLife believes that the development of every nation depends on the LIFE of its citizens. That is why Ang ProLife affirms and confirms its core values in favor of LIFE, in all its aspects and incidents. Ang ProLife likewise confirms its active engagement in the advocacy in defense of LIFE and against all legislation and policies that seek to legalize or institutionalize, among others, the following: Abortion, Un-reproductive Health Rights, Divorce, Same-Sex Unions, Depopulation, Radical Feminism, Public Child Sex Education, Pornography, and Euthanasia.
Atty. Jan Lumanta explained that Ang ProLife will instead engage and challenge proponents of “death” bills towards the establishment of ProLife measures that will promote a culture of LIFE for generations to come. Thus, Ang ProLife intends to pursue, among others, the following legislative agenda:
- Magna Carta for Families and the creation of the Commission on the Family
- Family Crisis Desk or Lupong Pampamilya in Every Barangay
- Parent Education Secondary Support Program in the Barangay Level
- Child Education ActFamily Living Wage Act
- Family Support Programs in all National Govt. Agencies and LGU’s.
- Family Farm Schools
- Youth Desk in every Barangay
- Tax Incentives and other Benefits for Families of Overseas Filipino Workers
- Equal budget allocation for both Natural Family Planning and Artificial Family Planning in accordance with the RH Law
When asked regarding the nominees of Ang Pro-Life Partylist, Atty. Jan Lumanta listed the following names:
- 1st – Engr. Moises Daruca Canete from Cebu City
- 2nd – Engr. Fritz Adenic Daulo from Iloilo
- 3rd- Atty. Jan Louenn Labisig Lumanta from Dipolog City (Secretary General)
- 4th – Engr. Julius Ang Engbino from Davao del Norte
- 5th – Ms. Lareina Lea Manalang-Garcia from the National Capital Region
Atty. Jan Lumanta added that many members of Ang Prolife are also members of Servant Communities, Soldiers of Christ Catholic Charismatic Community, Ang Dios Gugma Catholic Charismatic Community, Filipinos for Life, Koalisyong Katoliko Kristiyano (KKK), Children of Light Community, and Catholic Faith Defenders.
