Official Statement of ANG PROLIFE PARTYLIST about the so-called same-sex “marriage” agenda

Official Statement of Ang Pro-Life Partylist about the so-called “same-sex marriage” agenda

Ang Prolife Partylist (“Ang Prolife”) is standing by the anti same-sex “marriage” stand of Saranggani Representative Emmanuel “Manny” Dapidran Pacquiao. Rep. Pacquiao basically cited Natural Law and the teachings of his religion as the basis of his support for traditional marriage between a man and a woman. There was nothing in Rep. Pacquiao’s statements where he said that “homosexuals are worse than animals”. Unfortunately, prominent celebrities and supporters of the same-sex “marriage” agenda used these statements to defame the name of the congressman who has brought much pride and honor to our country as one of the most decorated and celebrated professional athlete of our age.
This unfortunate event was used by these celebrities and supporters of the same-sex “agenda” to launch a hate campaign against the legislator putting into light that lack of respect for and discrimination against a person’s religious freedom and conviction.
We, at the Ang Prolife, believe that the issue of same-sex “marriage” not only affects people of faith but it threatens the very existence of the basic unit of society itself, the family. Nature itself has shown that only a mother and father could produce an offspring for the propagation of species, most especially the human race. No two males, or no two females doing sexual acts could ever reproduce another human being. This is not religion. This is scientific fact.
A few days ago, His Holiness Pope Francis, the Holy Father, and His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, leader of the Russian Orthodox Church, signed a joint declaration where the two church leaders upheld the sanctity of the human family that “is based on marriage, an act of freely given and faithful love between a man and a woman.”

Ang ProLife Partylist nominee Engr. Moises Canete

1. What is your educational and work background?
I have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Cebu Institute of Technology, batch of 1984. After graduating, I worked at PHINMA and reached the position of product manager. I then started my own company Surge Traders, in 1998. This is where I trace my humble roots from a small electrical manufacturing shop. Which has now grown into a stable manufacturing company that specialize in electrical controls for various industrial needs. Surge Traders is currently located at Ylaya, Talamban Cebu City. I have recently started research work and experimentation into the development of ‘Free Energy’ under the Keshe Foundation, which is based in Europe.
2. Who invited you to join the Ang Prolife partylist?
I was primarily one of the founding members of the Prolife Party List. For 5 years now, I have served as member of the Board of Trustees of the Prolife Philippines Foundation. We created the partylist because of the need to have a stronger voice for pro-life representatives in congress. We want to reestablish the culture of life in our country.
3. How were you nominated to serve as partylist representative in congress?
I was appointed by Eric Manalang, the foundation and partylist president, and by Lito David, the executive secretary. I have always been active in committing to our cause and beliefs. When this tremendous responsibility came, I was fortunate enough to be one of the few the party considered. It was with great caution and eagerness that I stepped up to accept the nomination. I felt that this is the best way I can serve God and especially my fellow countrymen.
4. How did your nomination affect your family and friends?
When I told my children, they were happy for me and wished me the strength to endure the campaign and if appointed, the responsibilities of the congress. They expect me to strive to do my best, stand for what I believe in and not to let politics get the best of me. It is important that I do what is required of me and what needs to be done. My family understands this as well as I do. They are there to support me all the way.

2. Who invited you to join the Ang ProLife PartyList? What attracted you to join the group?
I was invited by Engr. Eric Manalang, the President of Prolife Philippines, Atty. James Imbong, legal counsel of Ang Prolife Partylist, and Mr. Lito David to join Ang Prolife.
I joined the group in order to answer the call and accept the challenge of Pope Francis to meddle in politics, especially during this time when human life is threatened, the institution of the family is destroyed, and faith in God is taken for granted and disrespected.  I was not only invited as a Third Nominee.  I was also invited to be the Secretary General of Ang Prolife.
3. How were you nominated to serve as Party List representative in Congress? How did you feel at that time? What made you decide to accept the nomination?
I was nominated by the members of the party in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act No. 7941 (Party List System Act). I was surprised when I was nominated because I did not accept that I would be nominated when I am still 28 years old.  Nonetheless,  I accepted the nomination because I believe that we need more pro-lifers in Congress and I also believe that I can be a good legislator with my good background in law and economics.  In the next Congress, divorce bills and bills that would promote same sex unions would be introduced.  We need to oppose these bills.  We need to oppose anti-life, anti-family, anti-Filipino, and anti-God bills.  For that, we want to participate in the deliberations, in the debate, and in the voting.

4. How did your nomination affect your family and friends? How did they receive the news?
I discussed the matter first with my family before I accepted the nomination.  Since my father, mother, and sister are also prolife, they did not hesitate to give me their support.  My friends, especially my fellow pro-lifers and my kababayans in Zamboanga del Norte, were very glad and excited when I announced that I filed my Certificate of Acceptance as Third Nominee of Ang Prolife Partylist.
5. How do you conduct your campaigns? What are the places you went to so far?
We campaign through the help of our members who are also members of our support groups such as the Soldiers of Christ Catholic Charismatic Movement in Luzon, Ang Diyos Gugma Catholic Charismatic Community in the Ilonggo/Hiligaynon speaking regions in the Visayas, Servants Communities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao areas, and Filipinos for Life.  We have also asked the support of Family and Life workers and lay leaders in every provinces.  We campaign through our website, Facebook pages, and twitter account in addition to our campaign sorties in selected provinces.  We have also tapped various religious and political radio programs all over the country to promote Ang Prolife Partylist.

Pro-Life Philippines condemns Php 3,000 PhilHealth allocation for contraceptive implant package

 BY

angprolifepartylist_philhealth_allocation_20160116(1)
Philhealth’s Subdermal Contraceptive Package as given in PhilHealth Circular No. 38 Series of 2015

In a recent interview in Vertitas, Pro-Life Philippines President Eric Manalang condemned PhilHealth Circular No. 38 of 2015 mandating the allocation of Php 3,000 for subdermal contraceptive implant package for Filipino women. This package covers the following:
  • Consultation and counseling prior to the procedure
  • Performance of the procedure including professional fee and use of the facility
  • Medicine and supplies including the contraceptive implant
  • Follow-up and counseling after the procedure
“Itong gagawin ng PhilHealth ay labag sa batas,” said Eric Manalang who is also the founding president of Ang Pro-Life Partylist. “In this case, we are reiterating the recognition of the start of Life. There should be no contraceptives that have action either primarily or secondarily as an abortifacient or tertiary.” Eric Manalang warned that Philhealth should stop this program; otherwise, they will go to Supreme Court to question the program’s legality.
In its decision regarding the RH Law, the Supreme Court already ruled that contraceptives that may have abortifacient effects, even if not directly intended, should not be allowed. These contraceptive implants releaseschemical hormones into the blood that have been shown to lead to various complications such as blood clots.
Last 2014, the DOH under Secretary Janette Garin already planned to purchase contraceptive implants for  600,000 Filipino women at the cost of Php 5,000 per implant, with Php 4,500 shouldered by the Gates foundation and Php 500 by the Philippine government. But this is only for the first 3 years, because the implant must be removed after 3 years. After this, the Philippine government has to shoulder the whole amount if it wishes to continue the contraceptive implants program.
But recently, DOH learned that its Php 1 billion budget for contraceptives was slashed in the 2016 Government budget. Senator Loren Legarda explained that the the budget was realigned for the purchase of air assets for the military amid tensions in West Philippine Sea, the increase in the budgets of state colleges and universities, and the health facilities and medical assistance to indigent patients. Senator Tito Sotto also added that the Supreme Court has stopped the distribution and sale of contraceptive implants: “Supreme Court TRO is the basis for the cuts in contraceptives and injectables. Besides, [Commission on Audit] says the budget for those have been misused.”
Because of the slashing of the Php 1 billion budget for contraceptives under the line item Family Health and Responsible Parenting, DOH was looking for alternative sources to fund this budget item and found an ally in PhilHealth. But Pro-Life President Eric Manalang said that once PhilHealth releases the funds, they will question such release before the Supreme Court: “Lahat ng ito ay kinukwestyon natin sa Supreme Court. So sa oras na inilabas yan ay magkakaroon kami ng pagkakataon to take legal remedy on these illegal acts.”
